About
Background
I’ve spent over a decade in the print and imprinting industry, working where operations and software meet. Real production floors, real preflight problems, real customers who have a job to ship before the tradeshow opens. I came up solving file problems and writing the scripts to keep them from coming back.
Along the way I picked up modern engineering — TypeScript, Next.js, PostgreSQL, the usual stack — and started building tools that print shops use. The two halves work better together than either does alone.
How I think about software
- Specific over abstract. Build for the actual workflow, then generalize once. Premature abstractions cost more than they save.
- Simplicity is correctness’s friend. A small system you understand fully beats a clever one you almost understand.
- Boring problems are the real problems. PDF version compatibility, font embedding, color management, file naming conventions. Print software lives or dies on the unglamorous stuff.
- Domain expertise is leverage. Knowing what a press operator actually does makes my software better than a generalist’s.
What Think Neverland is
Think Neverland is the home for my personal projects and writing. The brand is mine; it isn’t a company or a team. Anything I build outside of client work lives here.
What Print with Synergy is
Print with Synergy is the consulting practice I run separately. Commercial work — process audits, custom software for print shops, file-flow design — happens there. If you’re a print shop or imprinting business with a software problem, that’s the right door.
